LET'S SPARK IT UP!
ACTIVE SPARKS has been created to help build children's confidence and physical competence when participating in physical activity and sports.
We currently have three main programmes (based at pre-schools and primary schools). All our programmes are designed to develop and improve children's motor skills, self-confidence, co-ordination and social skills, all with an big emphasis on FUN!
We believe in the motto 'ALL INVOLVED - ALL THE TIME!'
Our sessions are game-based and child-centred.. Our coaches are enthusiastic and passionate about delivering engaging and fun lessons for all children.
Our aim is to 'spark children's enthusiasm and love for being active and sporty!'
This 6-8 week fundamental movement skills programme focuses on developing children's physical competence and confidence through game-based activities. Open to children aged 3-5 years old (in selected pre-schools only). This programme is great for developing children's social, emotional and school readiness!
This x8 week skating programmes catering for different skating abilities. The lessons are fun and child-centred, designed with a mixture of skill activities and games.
Coached by one of NZ's Top Speed Skaters.
This 8 week multi-sports programme caters for children of different abilities. Children get to experience at least 7 different sports and a mini sports festival. This is a fun, inclusive and game-based programme that is focused on enjoyment, exploration and lots of mini games. Session are 11/4hrs and children experience 2 sports per lesson.
This x8 week dance programmes catering for different dance abilities. It is a unique programme that allows children to experience a range of dance styles all within the same term including; Hip Hop, Ballet, Jazz, Salsa. It is specially designed to enhance children's creativity and teach them how to choreograph their own dances. Children also have the opportunity to perform their dances at the end of the term.

As a parent of three active boys, and a previous Physical Education and Dance teacher, I am passionate about getting children active and most importantly having them enjoy it! Experience tells us that it is vital that children have the opportunity to develop their fundamental skills at a young age and then experience a wide variety of sports that are game-based and engaging (not drill based and sports specific!). We strongly believe it this and the importance of

We have created these programmes based on research and past experiences. These programmes are child-centred and educational. It is our aim to engage children in motivating, stimulating and progressive ways, 'spark'ing their enthusiasm and love for being active', whilst improving their physical competence and confidence, so they can enjoy being active throughout their lives.
