☆ ABOUT US ☆
Active Sparks has been establish to provide children, parents, teachers and coaches with a positive, fun and educational active learning environment. We believe that all children should have the opportunity to participate in high quality physical lessons that not only help develop them physically but also holistically, with a focus on growing children's confidence, social skills and mental well-being.
‘All Involved, All The Time’ - we strongly believe that every student in our programmes should be constantly involved and engaged. Game-based learning is where it is at! Small-sided games and lots of contact with equipment! Kids should learn through play and have the opportunity to experience different sports and activities in order for them to discover their own interests and strengths. If we get the 'fundamental's right, kids will be confident and competent to get involved in activity and sports for LIFE!
JANNA MCLEAN (Director of ACTIVE SPARKS)
My vision is simple:
"kids having fun, learning new skills and sparking with confidence!"
As a mum of 3 active boys, a previous Director of Sport/Head of Physical Education, as well as Physical Skills Educator (Sport Bay of Plenty), I am passionate about ensuring young children's fundamental skills are developed properly and have seen a really need for education (with teachers and children) within the pre-school and primary school level. It is this reason that I founded Active Sparks.
I have designed these programmes based on research and past experiences. These programmes are child-centred, educational and most importantly fun! I want to share my knowledge and skills with children, parents and teachers and spark everyone's enthusiasm for being active!
